When is a My Car Coach inspection mandatory?
All vehicles covered by the Luxury & Performance Guarantee must be inspected beforehand by Mijn Autocoach. Additionally, there are some brands that Autotrust has flagged as ‘high-risk’ and therefore also require a prior inspection. The most common vehicles that fall under this category are BMWs with an N20B20 engine. Is there a waiting period?
Yes, for the first 15 days after the warranty comes into effect, the car dealership is responsible for the vehicle itself, and no claim can be made to Autotrust.
Are there any extra charges for taking out a policy for an imported vehicle?
No, no extra charges will be applied. However, the vehicle must have a full, correct maintenance history. The mileage must also be accurate. A provisional premium calculation can be made using the Dutch registration number of a similar vehicle, of the same age.
