For exporters

• For both export and EDD transactions, lamination codes must be entered since 1 January 2016. Are one or more digits illegible? If so, replace them with an asterisk (*).
• Have you entered the wrong code? Via the RDW laminating code correction form Can you correct the laminating code(s)?.
• You are required to keep the licence plate numbers of the last ten transactions. Please note that export and EDD are considered separately. Therefore, if you use both services, you must keep the licence plate numbers of the last 10 export transactions and the last 10 EDD transactions.
• When surrendering licence plates, you must render them unusable by cutting them into 2 halves to be cut. The 10-digit unique number of the license plate – the laminating code – must remain legible. Keep the halves of the license plates from a single report bundled together.

For dismantling companies

• You are obliged to keep the licence plates from the last ten transactions.
• When surrendering licence plates, you must render them unusable by cutting them into 2 halves to be cut. The 10-digit unique number of the license plate – the laminating code – must remain legible. Keep the halves of the license plates from a single report bundled together.

For number plate manufacturers

• When issuing with the reason ‘exchange’ and for notifications of the ‘destruction’ process, you are obliged to keep the number plates from the last 10 transactions. Please note that both processes are viewed separately in this regard. Therefore, keep the plates from the last 10 issues with the reason ‘exchange’ and the plates from the last 10 notifications of the ‘destruction’ process.
• When surrendering licence plates, you must render them unusable by cutting them into 2 halves to be cut. The 10-digit unique number of the license plate – the laminating code – must remain legible. Keep the halves of the license plates from a single report bundled together.
• Since 1 January 2016, it has been possible to issue licence plates of model 27.10 (motorcycle licence plate) with plastic characters; the so-called luxury plate.

Please note that the RDW has been checking this new procedure since 1 January 2016.
